Happy Birthday to Me!

The day started with a quick phone call from my Dad, they were about to leave Hongkong. It was just a quick call but I really appreciated it, he reminded me to check the text message he sent me.

I was really craving for fresh buko shake, so as a birthday gift to myself I bought a smoothie maker. It was on sale for PHP1499. The stainless steal finished power unit gave it a nice modern look, worth every peso. Fresh buko meat/juice plus ice and splenda, delish!

I've been very busy these past few days. I didn't get to watch the whole American Idol auditions this week. I'll try to catch up the replay this coming Sunday 6pm Starworld 48 (Skycable) and both of the Wednesday and Thursday auditions back to back.

So Simple

It started a few weeks ago, I've been itching to change "My Soundtrack" from Mojoflys' Mata to Stacie Orricos' So Simple. So Simple appropriately reflects the current state I'm in. Starting a fresh new year being spontaneous, taking risks and just be better than ever. Certain goals might look complicated to accomplish but once you just let go and take the first step, you'll realize that it's simple. I'd like to thank my new bff for inspiring me to be a better human being, Jesus, without you I could have been stuck in the state of negativity. Thank you for a new beginning.

Castpost is currently upgrading their system. Till they finish, I'm trying out MyFlashFetish (free) services.

I just checked out amazon.com apparently there is an existing "limited edition" of Stacie Orricos' Beautiful Awakening album. Aside from the 12 tracks, the limited edition includes 3 videos (Stuck, There's Gotta Be More To Life, I'm Not Missing You) and Behind The Beautiful Awakening Epk. I was about to grab the 12 track album last SM Malls year-ender sale, when I decided to follow my instinct and just wait if they might release a limited version. I'm glad I did.

Below, the lyrics to the song and checkout my cool mix tape at the side column.

So Simple
by Stacie Orrico
Beautiful Awakening

It could all be so simple, simple

Don't need high heels
For a good feel
You can keep the fancy clothes
I'll take walkin in the rain
Over things material
I'll trade Melrose and the big names
Give me faces that I know
Just play a melody that everybody knows

Take it down, down, down
And strip it to the core
I don't really need much less is more, more, more

True to life, true to me
The way it's got to be
So simple, so simple, so simple
Live to love, love to be
Absolutely free
so simple, so simple, simple

Give me wisdom, plain and truthful
Teach me somethin I don't know
Plain as education, inspiration I suppose (yeah yeah)
Give me family, on a Sunday
And I'll be just fine
There's nothing in the world
That's worth more of my time

Take it down, down, down
And strip it to the core
I don't really need much less is more, more, more

True to life, true to me
The way it's got to be
So simple, so simple, so simple
Live to love, love to be
Absolutely free
so simple, so simple, simple

True to life, true to me
The way it's got to be
So simple, so simple, so simple
Live to love, love to be
Absolutely free
so simple, so simple, simple

Livin my dream, is my song to the world
(let 'em hear it)
Sharin' my soul and spirit
I'm hopin that you hear it
Got one (one) life (life) to live (live)
It's only what you make it (make it)
Every new day's a chance worth takin

True to life, true to me
The way it's got to be
So simple, so simple, so simple
Live to love, love to be
Absolutely free
so simple, so simple, simple

True to life, true to me
The way it's got to be
So simple, so simple, so simple
Live to love, love to be
Absolutely free
so simple, simple.

La la la la lah
La la la la lah
La la la la lah so simple, so simple, so simple
Oh simple La la la lah la la la la lah hmm..
So simple, so simple, simple.

American Idol Season 6

American Idol Season 6 is a few hours away from its premier episode. I’m ecstatic and excited that FINALLY I get to watch another season of AI. Though I’m glad that Mau Marcelo won the first Philippine Idol, I grew apathetic watching the show. In the event that ABC 5 would have a second season I hope they make sure that they reviewed the first season and make necessary improvements on the show. To be honest, it’s not solely ABC 5’s fault that the first Philippine Idol season fell short compared to its American version. Amidst the network wars, the Filipino viewers were not ready for Philippine Idol. The concept “Vote for your Idol, the one who gets more votes win” is simple as that. As much as I want to expound this further “Filipino viewers’ not ready”, I’m too lazy to be bothered with recalling the issues. Hay ang pinoy nga naman, well there’s still hope for PI season 2.

Basta I’m super excited to watch AI, mas ganado ako manuod.

LTO and Hanakazu Dissapointment

The day started early with a visit to an LTO office. My drivers' license is due for renewal, which only meant that my b-day is coming up. I spent the rest of the day window shopping with my cousin. This was my first time to go around without any agenda at all. I usually plan ahead of time mentally taking down notes. I ask myself and discern do I need to buy something? where am I going to buy it? who I'm going out with and alike. I've developed this habit ever since I left my "student privileged lifestyle". With no regular allowance from my parents I learned to control myself and stick with my budget. Gone are the days where I usually splurge and max out my extension credit cards but I’m glad that I controlled “impulse buying habit” I had before.

For dinner we went to Hanakazu in BF Homes. This was the first time I experienced its restaurant dine-in service since I just usually have it to go. I told my cousin that their maki was my favorite and that I haven’t eaten there for a while since their recent price increase and because I learned how to make them maki rolls. They greeted us as we entered. The ambiance was nice and clean. I was supposed to try out their salad selections but the 300+ tag on their salad wasn’t quite justified. I ordered california maki, green tea ice cream and iced tea. Everything tasted okay but I was dismayed upon gazing the serving size of the items I ordered. How much smaller they were compared to my last take out was last year. The 200 bucks on 6 slices of maki was worth it if they haven’t changed its size. The waitress that attended us was so slow in refilling the small glass of water my cousin had. My cousin couldn’t help but notice that they paid extra attention to the Korean customers around us, “bias” my cousin kept blurting out as they hurriedly attended the foreigners. I’m so disappointed with Hanakazu, their food was still good but I could get the same quality of taste if not better taste and serving proportions on other popular Japanese restaurants. I will not, ever, visit this restaurant again.

Full Tank

At last my first post for the year! I was trying to access Blogger since 01 Jan 2007 but there was a problem loading Bloggers' main page. Was it a bug? or my DSL connection is still suffering the aftermath of the Taiwan earthquake. I was suppose to post something before the year ended, the factors I mentioned above plus the hectic schedule that I was is in made this "so called year end post" possible to unattainable.

.....................................................................................................

The year 2006 was all about my family. We are closer and bonded more than I could ever imagine. I'd like to thank my family for the unconditional support and love they have given me.

2006 has been very fruitful, I've managed to take small steps to greatness! The funny thing was I didn't planned it, it just happened! I just went for it. The first step wasn't that easy, I had excuses lined up in my head just not to plunge into it but I'm happy I did!

My renewed relationship with God, keeps me fueled. Full tank, ready for greatness!

I am ready.
