It's been a real long time
It's been a real long time. A lot of things happened since my last post.Primarily events about death. My Lola Puri and my cousin Kuya Idol passed last May 2009. My Lola who suffered from a kidney failure, died second week of May. My 29 year old cousin who also attended the wake at our province died, from cardiac arrest while he was asleep, just a few days before we closed the month of May. And we were still coping with our loss, Tita Ding who passed November of last year.
Aside from sudden episodes of sadness which leads to crying, I would wake up everyday in fear of hearing another bad news.
Despite of the sad episodes our family has encountered, I do try to still look at the brighter side of life. It has made our family a much tighter knit. Take each event as a learning experience and as a constant reminder that life is more valuable.

Unexpected Birthday Spa Party
I tremendously enjoyed my birthday this year. One of my most memorable birthdays to date. I celebrated my day with the people I hold close to my heart and love the most. What made the day more special was that we were able to attend mass as a whole family.
Our original plan was just to have brunch at Sonya's Garden but the night before my birthday I learned that mama wanted to avail some of the spa services offered. I quickly called Sonya's if they could still accommodate reservations for their spa and if we could move our brunch reservation to a late lunch. They were able to accommodate our late night reservation and make some adjustments.
The day of my birthday.
We started the day early with a mass at Pink Sisters’ Convent. We arrived just in time for the morning mass. It was quite noticeable that there were a lot of people this particular Sunday. It was comforting to know that they have extra chairs provided for those who won't be able to get inside the church.
We were expecting the cold climate but we were still surprised on how actually cold it was. The cold climate was even magnified with sudden surges of strong winds. I was already wearing a long-sleeved shirt plus a hoodie and I was still feeling cold. Some of my cousins forgot their jackets and wore regular t-shirts ...brRRrrr...
After the mass we purchased some souvenirs, cloistered cookies and on our way out we bought boiled peanuts. We all wondering how they got the peanuts to taste like smoked bacon. As much as I wanted to eat more smoked bacon peanuts cause it tasted real good but I didn't want to spoil our lunch buffet at Sonya's Garden.

We scheduled to have our spa at 10 am, arriving just in time. We divided into two groups the first group were the one who are availing of the spa services while the other chose just to hang around and raid the paninderia for the freshly baked breads. Mama, tita and my cousins were quite busy selecting in the spa menu which service to pick. My sister and I had already selected in advance and we both chose "Foot Scrub Indulgence". Mama and Tita chose "Traditional Hilot", Jc and Ate Rose chose "Sonya's Signature Massage" and Ate Jen chose "Foot Spa with back Massage".
All of us stayed in one cottage with individual private areas for those who availed of full body services. At first we were all engaged in conversation updates on what happening, reminiscing and laughing a lot. After a few more minutes the room was in complete silence "a good sign" that everyone is already relaxing or sleeping.
It was delight to see the smiling faces of my cousins and mama after their each respective spa sessions. They looked relax and refreshed while sipping their hot dalandan tea (a must try).
Sonya's Lunch/Dinner Buffet was the highlight of the day. We were all seated in a long table and it was quite obvious that everyone was already hungry. We were served green salad with Sonya's Secret Dressing, bread with an array of homemade dips, Pasta 2 sauces with different toppings, Dessert sweet potato, chocolate cake and bannarolls (mini turon) and bottomless dalandan juice.
We also ordered their roast chicken for those who aren't veggie fans (yaya, nieces and my lil bro).
To be honest, if not for the fixed menu I wouldn't mind just eating the Salad and Bread. Cause by the time we had Pasta I was already full.
A few years back, I've always read reviews about Sonya's Garden and often wondered what was all the fuss about. But now that I have celebrated my birthday with them it was an unexpected most memorable birthdays to date. The ambiance, excellent quality spa services and the sit down buffet entices people to relax, talk and bond with their respective loved ones and just enjoy each others company. I recommend families who wish to just get out of the busy manila life and enjoy the activities they can do together at Sonya's Garden.

Closing Year 2008
I've been reflecting on the Year 2008 as it closes in a few hours. The year started great with my early purchase of excellent seats for Roger and Hammerstein' s Cinderella which featured my forever idol Lea Salonga.
Followed by my unexpected last minute ticket purchase of Lea's concert Celebration 30 years in the business, Lea... My life on Stage and winning in the raffle.
Bizniz is steady despite current worldwide economic crisis.
A relative was diagnosed to have pituitary cyst but after months of medical treatment and prayers it was eventually ruled out.
Been looking forward to celebrating the Holidays since I'm exicted to show off my new recipes I learned and cook noche buena and medya noche for my family.
But when we reached the end months, November 10 the passing of our dear Tita Ding and with the Holidays coming up it was a struggle to be and feel genuinely happy.
I'm grateful for the new and wonderful things I received this year 2008 but at the same time I'm deeply saddened that the upcoming events in my life, in our family's life We are less of one.

Takoyaki

Years back, my first encounter with a takoyaki was at a small stall located at SM foodcourt. My sister bought these little seafood balls covered with some sort of sweet sour sauce and drizzled with mayonnaise. EEewWw... was my initial reaction.
Mini-trivia about t-na:Whenever they came home from SM they kept taking home takoyaki. One day I just finally gave in to my curiosity. It was like squid ball but the center is soft and it has a small chunk of octopus. At first it was just okay... its edible. Then suddenly I found myself asking my siblings to buy me some takoyaki if they go to SM. After sometime the Takoyaki booth was closed down and we never ate takoyaki... till this year.
I don't like mayonnaise or to be more specific I don't like the after taste if I chase it down with plain water. The after taste of mayonnaise blehhuck! So in the event that I do eat something with mayo I have to have sweet tea or juice.
Just a few months ago, out of nowhere my sister and I wanted to eat takoyaki. We saw a booth at festival mall but it wasn't as good as the last time we ate ( a couple of years back).
We decided to make our own Takoyaki. The hardest part was finding a Takoyaki Pan which we had to special order from a family friend. For the sauce, I made our own Sweet and Sour Sauce and we bought Japanese Mayonnaise (it makes a big difference instead of using plain mayo).
I found a recipe at Youtube. The dog host of the cooking show is absolutely entertaining.
How to Make Takoyaki (Japanese Octopus Dumpling Balls)
- Takoyaki Batter -
1 Egg
340ml Icy Water (1.437 u.s. cup)
1/2 tsp Granulated Dashi (1/4 tsp Kombu Dashi & 1/4 tsp Bonito Dashi)
1 tsp Soy Sauce
A Pinch of Salt
100g Soft Wheat Flour (3.527 oz)
150g Boiled Octopus (5 1/3 oz)
1/2 cup Tenkasu - crunchy bits of deep fried flour-dough
6g Beni Shoga - Pickled Ginger (1/5 oz)
2g Sakuraebi - Dried Pink Baby Shrimps (1/10 oz)
Okonomiyaki Sauce
Aonori - Green Laver
Hanakatsuo - Dried Bonito Flakes
2 Long Green Onions
Mayonnaise

Rare Occurrence in the Kitchen
Last Sunday my mom prepared a simple dish for dinner, baked fish fillet in between layers of tomatoes, olives, onions and capers. With her busy schedule she rarely cooks at home, unless my Dad is around. She was enthusiastic to cook this particular dish that she got from a friend, who served this dish in one of the meetings she attended. It was quite refreshing since I usually grill or pan fry my fish. The fish was soft and tender, the olives and capers complimented the delicate fish. I added freshly squeezed lemon juice and it was hmmm... delish! Whether fried or grilled I always liked an extra punch of calamansi or lemon juice.
Mama and her little rare gestures really makes me appreciate her more.

Tid bits
Just woke up and it's about time I do an update...A few days ago I just finished Resident Evil 4. Playing R4 with Wii made the whole gaming experience refreshing and action filled, literally. Using the Wii remote and the nunchuck made my aim more precise and easily handle Leon's movements. At the middle part of the game, the zombies evolve and shooting them directly on the head just releases the tentacles instead of instantly killing them. I can't recall if the previous versions had them evolving zombies. Now that I finished the main plot, I'm still left with bonus or extra features but I'm eying on buying the unlimited rocket launcher which will hold me back 1M Pesetas.
I hope the strike would end soon I miss my tv series... Heroes, Ugly Betty, Desperate Housewives, Gossip Girl, How I met your Mother ... Most of them were cut short leaving us viewers wanting more.
American Idol is back! I'd be posting my favorites at the end of the auditions phase. I barely get to watch this show on time, thanks to torrents I could DL them and watch during my free time.
Last night I was able to watch the animated film Happy Feet thru HBO. A particular scene struck me the most. Mumble was captured and placed in a glass cage with other penguins he was trying to communicate with the "aliens" asking them to stop taking their fish. Days turned to weeks, weeks into months. When he was about to give up and get accustomed to living in a fish bowl his family (thru an illusion) reminded him of his purpose.
Watching Mumbo stuck inside the glass cage made me feel terrible and to just imagine an actual creature in the same circumstance. I made a decision, I will not participate in any activity which involves creatures caged in a made up habitat as form of entertainment.

Busy... busy... busy...

Last 20th was my moms' company party and again I was requested to cook my special Pancit Molo. I had to prepare and individually wrap a 8 packs of molo wrapper, a pack is estimated to have 100 sheets.

Tomato Head

It didn't really help that the elevators at AHMC have mirror like walls. Seeing myself, I was red as a tomato that I had to wear sunglasses to shamelessly cover up my face, in hopes that no body would notice them (yeah right!?!). I still have this instant replay of how my doctor reacted when I took my glasses off and saw the tomato. Her face was like a gif avatar I could use, replayed over and over.
Initial recommendation was to see an Allergy Doctor and take an allergy test to know once and for all what triggers this allergic reaction. She gave me a number of topical creams to be applied and 10 days to take iterax. After a week of religiously applying the medication she gave me, I came back just this morning for my checkup. She was surprised to see that my face has cleared up quickly leaving no trace of the allergies and a far cry from what she saw a week ago. She gave me the option whether I'd continue to see the allergy doctor and take the test which costs Php5000++. I'm considering taking it probably before the year ends.
It's really hard to find a good honest dermatologist. I have gone thru four different one all through out my lifetime and it would be nice if I could stick to one good one.

Saving Up

Another goal or objective for this year is "Saving up". There was a time that I had to have everything I want such as clothes, shoes, bags and gadgets. Though I've already rehabilitated and managed the shopahollic in me, I still have some tingling urges left (such as a new MP3 player) . To further control these urges and prevent myself from spending my money, I have surrendered all my finances to my mom. Yes! as pre-school as it may sound I have my mom to the rescue. Nowadays temptation to spend is high when you see all of the latest gadgets, concerts (the christina aguilera concert which costs PHP7000++ /ticket), cds, bags and alike. I think having money saved up is really important, it's nice to start young (okay... im in my early twenties am I still considered young, young?). Knowing that I have something saved really boosts me up to save more and more.

Surprises within the Party
Last Friday was my moms' 50th birthday, we can't have a party on that day since it falls on a Good Friday. My siblings requested that I cook fettuccine with mushroom and cheese sauce and Labahita fillet with fresh salsa and sour cream. All of the malls and bakeshops were closed which only meant, no birthday cake for mama. The day ended as if it was just another ordinary day. I was so busy (organizing the party) we didn't even buy her flowers or gave her any gift, I just gave her a kiss and greeted her. Tragic isn't it?My mom doesn't know that I have planned a surprise birthday party for her on Easter Sunday. I've been brewing up this surprise birthday party ever since last year. This was one of the major reasons that i decided not to post some entries for the past few months just to make sure that she wouldn't get any clue.

Holy week was supposed to be time spent for reflection and relaxation but with the party coming up I was so preoccupied with organizing and making sure everything turned out okay. I didn't get much sleep since I used the wee hours of morning making the invitations for last minute guests since a few of the guests I invited couldn't make it, making Photo and music dvds, auditing receipts making sure I stuck with my budget and alike. Good thing I decided to hire a catering company so that I could concentrate on the program rather than slaving away in the kitchen.
Highlights of the Party
The Guests
I only had 50 guests last night. I wanted the event to be intimate. My mom was surprised that I knew her close circle of friends. I made sure that the guests I invited were close friends of mama and or the family. Everyone belonged to a particular group. I specifically hate attending parties, wherein you'd feel conscious, uncomfortable or feel left out.
Surprises within the Party
Special Message: A few days before my dad left to work abroad, I recorded a short video message for my mom from my dad. It was just a stolen moment, while my mom was taking her usual night shower. Mamas' reaction was priceless, she kept laughing and looked "kilig" while papa professed his undying love for her.
PhotoDVD: I compiled different pictures of our beloved mom, from the time she was 8 (the oldest I could find) up to present. I really enjoyed making this project, it's as if I was unlocking my moms past seeing her grow up in front of me. The photodvd had two parts, the transition from past to present. The "past" was shown while playing "Beautiful Girl" by no other than the great Jose Marie Chan and the "present" was shown while playing "Mama" by the Spice Girls.
Special Song Numbers: A number of mamas' friends sang for her while others opted a toast or speech. For the first time I was able to sing in front of a crowd, other than my patient siblings and cousins during karaoke sessions. I sang "I Won't Last a Day Without You" by the Carpenters. At first, I wasn't able to sing the song since after the second stanza, tears already trickled down my face. My brother had two to three songs prepared, his our balladeer for the night.
Overall, I didn't expect that I could pull off a big party like this. Mama was so happy, and still shocked that I pulled a big one on her. The guests were so touched by the gesture we made. I thank God for inspiring and guiding through out this event. Most especially I thank him for making me realize how lucky I am that I have Mama for my mom. The event would be more successful if papa was here, but he is coming home soon and we are all excited to see him.

THE GREATEST ADVICE
THE GREATEST ADVICE“The Purpose Driven Life” by Rick Warren
Don't date because you are desperate.
Don't marry because you are miserable.
Don't have kids because you think your genes are superior.
Don't philander because you think you are irresistible.
Don't associate with people you can't trust.
Don't cheat. Don't lie. Don't pretend.
Don't dictate because you are smarter.
Don't demand because you are stronger.
Don't sleep around because you think you are old enough & know better.
Don't hurt your kids because loving them is harder.
Don't sell yourself, your family, or your ideals.
Don't stagnate!
Don't regress.
Don't live in the past. Time can't bring anything
or anyone back.
Don't put your life on hold for possibly Mr. Right.
Don't throw your life away on absolutely Mr. Wrong because your biological clock is ticking.
Learn a new skill.
Find a new friend.
Start a new career.
Sometimes, there is no race to be won,
only a price to be paid
for some of life's more hasty decisions.
To terminate your loneliness, reach out to the homeless.
To feed your nurturing instincts, care for the needy.
To fulfill your parenting fantasies, get a puppy.
Don't bring another life into this world
for the wrong reasons.
To make yourself happy,
pursue your passions
& be the best of what you can be.
Simplify your life.
Take away the clutter.
Get rid of destructive elements:
abusive friends, nasty habits and dangerous liaisons.
Don't abandon your responsibilities
but don't overdose on duty.
Don't live life recklessly without thought and feeling
for your family.
Be true to yourself.
Don't commit when you are not ready.
Don't keep others waiting needlessly.
Go on that trip. Don't postpone it.
Say those words. Don't let the moment pass.
Do what you have to, even at society's scorn.
Write poetry.
Love Deeply.
Walk barefoot.
Dance with wild abandon.
Cry at the movies.
Take care of yourself.
Don't wait for someone to take care of you.
You light up your life.
You drive yourself to your destination.
No one completes you - except YOU.
It isn't true that life does not get easier with age.
It only gets more challenging.
Don't be afraid.
Don't lose your capacity to love.
Pursue your passions.
Live your dreams.
Don't lose faith in God.
Don't grow old. Just grow YOU!
God is good all the time!

Happy Birthday to Me!

I was really craving for fresh buko shake, so as a birthday gift to myself I bought a smoothie maker. It was on sale for PHP1499. The stainless steal finished power unit gave it a nice modern look, worth every peso. Fresh buko meat/juice plus ice and splenda, delish!
I've been very busy these past few days. I didn't get to watch the whole American Idol auditions this week. I'll try to catch up the replay this coming Sunday 6pm Starworld 48 (Skycable) and both of the Wednesday and Thursday auditions back to back.

Texters' Choice and Panic Attacks
Yesterday was a very busy day for all of us at home. My mom woke up early and started her day in panic mode. Aside from my brothers' contest, she has an important meeting/audit at work. Good thing ( was it?!? ) I was already up doing my morning routine. I witnessed how my mom literally went about, "checking - rechecking - asking me to check - recheck and again asking me to check" tickets... my brothers' schedule, outfit and accessories... relatives watching... budget the money for gas, food and alike. My lil bros' rehearsal was at 1pm and my mom was stressing out as early as 6:30 in the morning. She left me in charge, she stressed that I made sure everything was complete and on schedule. Typical mama, panic first rather than thinking constructively/actually doing the deed. Sometimes I feel like my moms' secretary, the way she makes you feel that you should deliver results at command. Shes' the boss at work as well as at home.Moving on... ( before this entry turn into something else... )
Though he didn't place in the singing contest, my brother won "Singfarers Texters' Choice". He brought home cash prizes, gift packs, a brand new Zellyphone and a plaque.

Remarks made by the judges "he exudes confidence on stage". He really enjoyed performing and was really proud how his hands didn't shake on stage. He was not nervous at all.
He was supposed to join "La Salle Idol" in Zobel but the auditions were held on the days he had to attend to Singfarers' rehearsals.Well at least he gets to relax after the contest. He's currently enrolled in Center For Pop Music Philippines Level 2 and we can't wait to attend his recitals/shows and surprise us again.

Natural Occurence
Just woke up and couldn't get back to sleep.
My dad is already here! Actually he arrived last week, Thursday 02 November 2006. If you've read my blog in the past you probably noticed the natural occurrence of this "event". I've probably blogged about how we all hustle and bustle around in preparation for "the day" and the fact that something (an appliance, car, water tank and alike) gets broken a few days before he arrives.
This year was no exemption, the dvd player in my room is broken (it couldn't read dvds, vcds nor cds) and our refrigerator sparked and almost caught on fire the night before he arrived. My sister, I and the dogs weren't at home when this happened. We just received a call from my brother asking us to buy packs of ice cause the fridge is broken. Good thing everybody was safe and the small fire was extinguished quickly.
My dad is very excited about my brothers' upcoming singing contest, as well as enjoying the kulets' ( yes we are talking about our puppies Gabby and Mikey).

Vote for my Lil' Brother!
Juan, my lil' brother, plays the flute in the school orchestra. Earlier this year my dad attended one of my brothers' school concert. Because of the nature of his job he rarely gets to attend school functions (including graduation) thus he was really excited and enthusiastic about it. After watching he made a remark/request that my brother should also perform and sing in the concert aside from playing his flute. We as a family enjoy music, and have bonding karaoke sessions for fun. My brother can carry a few tunes but he lacks something... so I encouraged him to enroll at Center for Pop Music Philippines(CPMP), just for fun and as a summer activity. After finishing level one at CPMP, he surprised everybody during his recital. He was confident on stage and his voice was like "WOW" I just can't believe that he has improved a lot. While some of his peers forgot steps, lyrics of the song he just glided smoothly thru the recital.
A few weeks after the recital, Mama sent an email about an upcoming singing contest sponsored by FAME and Smart Link . We all encouraged him to join or at least audition for the contest, wala namang mawawala kung i-try niya. To make the long story short, Juan passed the auditions and my dads' request "to see my brother perform on stage" is finally within reach. The grand finals would be held at CCPs' Aliw theater on 09 November 2006 hosted by Paolo Bediones and Ruffa mae Quinto.
The contest has a "texters choice catergory" though I'm known for being a very lazy texter, I prefer calls than text, I'll make an exemption and vote for my brother.
If by any chance you're a SMART subscriber, PLEASE vote for my lil' brother (okay so he is almost 6ft.) by texting "LINK Juan" and send to 299 per text costs PHP 2.50

Checklist and Mojofly
A big chunk of my money goes to my music/movie collection. Way back I used to buy items in a snap then later on regret acquiring some of them, a bad habit that I had to correct. That's why I've developed a checklist that I run thru before I make any purchase. I'd jot down all of the albums and dvds that i like, checkout the internet just see if some of my favorite artists released a special edition/new/the best of album. The checklist helps me discern the items that are "purchase worthy" from the "impulse-spur-of-the-moment".I purchase cds and dvds based on these terms:
a. I'm a huge fan of the artist/movie.
b. I buy them during SM malls' 3-day sale since they give out 10% discount on all of their CD and or DVDs regardless if it's a new release or not. Discount counts especially with the bulk of items I purchase.
c. I wait until they release a repackaged version of an album. A big draw back is that it would require a waiting period of not less than a year before they release these kinds of album. The wait is worth while since I get more value for my peso when they throw out a couple of rare/live/unplugged tracks and some repackages even include music videos.
In line with my entry, I recently got a copy of Mojoflys' Now Album and I'm very happy with my copy. The 2-disc package marries the original ‘05 full-length and an A-VCD featuring live tracks from their first major concert at the Music Museum (September, 2005) and the 3D-animated music video of Tumatakbo. For those who haven't heard of Mojofly, check out my side bar under "Soundtrack" It's one of my favorite tracks in the album entitled "Mata". Lougees' rich voice paired with the Cello, simply amazing. She's the best thing that happened to Mojofly, she's written a number of songs (all of them are my favorite tracks) in the album.
Here's the lyrics to "Mata"
kumusta na
nandyan ka pa ba
wala na yatang ibang magagawa
kundi tumawa
nandyan pa ba
mga ala-ala
ang tanging bagay na naiwan
sa 'ting dalawa
wag nang paikutin ang isa't isa

Tid Bits
I've been quite busy for the past few weeks and I really hope that all of the things I've lined up would turn out great. My dad might come home either September or November of this year, just in time for Christmas. Our first complete Christmas after a decade. We are all excited to greet him with our growing family, Gabby and Mikey. The puppies are growing up so fast. I call Gabby, little teddy, cause he resembles a cute chubby teddy bear. Mickey on the otherhand looks like his mom when she was a puppy and apparently likes to hangout in the kitchen, that's why I call him "kitchenello". Raphy, on the otherhand, is with his new family who also has a shih tzu puppy named Cha-cha. We miss him dearly, the house was so quite when he left us. We are grateful that he is with a loving family and he has a new playmate. I called his new owner the day after they got him and they sounded so happy. She narrated Raphy's antics and how he slept in their bed, while Cha-cha had a jealous streak about Raphy getting attention. We plan to stay in touch with them for as long as we can. Raphy and I had a small talk a few days before the "d-day", I know it's weird but I talk to my babies (dogs), they are good therapists. I hope he remembers me by the time we get to visit him.I'm getting antsy with my room, I want to rearrange it, again, but the TV is mounted on the wall thus I'd still have to wait for my dad. He likes to do handyman things, all dressed up with matching goggles hehehe. He's

Till then... have a nice day!

2006: The Year of "Coming Out"
Just came from the hospital to pick up mama, who was visiting a relative confined since Saturday. I opted to stay up late cause it's too cold inside my room and despite negotiations my sister still insisted to keep the air conditioning on. I'm having a hard time sleeping because of my three day old colds, my nose just feels so stuffed.I'm currently checkin my email and I was taken a-back ...
I dub thee "2006 : The Year of "COMING OUT"
A number of foreign and local celebrities decided to finally come out of the closet and proudly announce their chosen sexuality. I just posted an entry regarding Darren Hayes "coming out" and a few days after that another celebrity stepped out of the closet. Whoah, I was surprised, never thought that he was one. Recent revelations only left me with one conclusion : The Gay community has a lot of super fine men, Damn gay guys are hot!
The following male celebrities, foreign and local, decided to finally come out:
1. Rustom Padilla
2.
3.Darren Hayes
4.
5. Clay Aiken (after that Idol appearance... He didn't have to say it)
and the newest addition...

6. Lance Bass of the defunct NSYNC.

Rubber Glue Back to You (me)
Way back in the 1990's, my sister and her friends were so into "boy bands". I didn't understand why they were so into it considering that only two out of the five members were singing and the other members served as backdrops/ eye candy. I often teased my sister and mimic one of the singers on how obviously gay he was, the way he pouts his lips ala vogue, Harhar laughtrip. I knew that she had a big crush on him, so when he finally "came out" and admitted that he is gay. I teased her even more and played the "I told you so" over and over until she gets irritated . Now whenever I remind her of her former "obsession" she gives me the smirk and says "that was then, ok?!?".I'm a big fan of the defunct Australian pop duo Savage Garden since 1998 and the recent development on the former frontman Darren Hayes shocked me, rubber glue back to me!
WEDDING BLUES
Darren Hayes is gay. Get over it. Since the former Savage Garden frontman announced that he had married his British boyfriend of two years, Richard Cullen, in a civil partnership ceremony in London on June 19, his many devoted female fans are struggling to come to terms with the fact that there was now a zero per cent chance they will ever marry the man, as opposed to the 0.00001 per cent possibility that existed previously.
Hayes's unexpected nuptials have resulted in many a cri de couer across the land. One young female was moved to forgiving words on his official website, saying she was still happy for him nevertheless and "it doesn't matter that he is gay or bisexual".
"I will love yooooou 4ever thanks 4 your courage daz," an Italian fan gushed.
Male fans have their own hurdles to jump, like this fan who was still coming to terms with his feelings, in a number of senses: "Imagine, the man that I've idolised, loved and cherished for soooo many years is gay? It is easy to accept that for women but not for men. Until now, I can't stop thinking about it."
Source: Sydney Morning Herald www.smh.com.au

Undeniably there is a twig of disappointment whenever someone we look up to suddenly is "unavailable and gay". Come to think of it, there were a lot of clues dropped ever since "Savage Garden" started. Music videos released by the former band, Darren have shown certain expressions that suggest his sexuality but always thought (or probably I was just in denial/ blinded by admiration) that he was just so passionate about his craft. Now that he is finally out, as a fan I admire him more than ever. It took a lot of courage and is certainly a big risk for him to admit that he is gay and married. I'm still digesting the thought that he is gay but nevertheless this issue would not affect my admiration for Mr. Hayes and his music.

Happy Birthday Dad

It's sad that you're not here with us to celebrate your birthday, I opted to blow your candle instead. Sorry I didn't get to text you since I wanted to greet you with a phone call but the signal was off (according to mama). I hope you activated your mms/gprs cause I really want to send pictures of the pups or even have a 3G video call (that would be neat). Stop being stubborn and kuripot, just follow the activation text I sent you... ok? Here's to you Papa ;)
Note: I've Updated the American Idol Mp3 section, there are some Mp3s of the finale and a video. Enjoy!
